Do you feel free?

Do the birds in the canopy feel free

Do they get tired of flying

Do they fear poachers

Do they long for the sea?

Do the fishes in the waters feel free

Do they get tired of swimming

Do they fear fishers

Do they long for legs to run like me?

Do the waters in the catchment feel free

Do they get tired of the setting

Do they dream for the horizon that sunders

Do they long to flow across the ocean as she?

Do the winds crashing through the trees feel free

Do they get tired of moving

Do they dream to roll in the waters

Do they long to meet Ariel, Little Mermaid of the Sea?

I think, wonder, watch and see.

What about me?

Do I want another body, another personality

Do I feel free? Am I free?

The birds are still chirping

Even if there’s no ears to listen.

The waters are still sparkling

Even if there’s no eyes for appreciation.

The winds are still rustling

Even if there’s no leaves of the aspen.

They do not care for appreciation.

Dovetail so quietly you do not catch sight.

But when you do pay attention

You realise they are free, never fight.

I bow my head low, regret all the times

I sought recognition or went for aggression.

Then suddenly in the water I see

Myself, glittering.

Then joy and peace whispers in my ear.

I am free.
